Dead wood down, pixels up

The ABC numbers for newspaper circulation are out and they are ugly: paid print subscriptions are down almost across the board.

On the other hand, online news readership has grown dramatically in the past 5 years--with regular readership of news online double in March 2005 what it was at the peak of the "bubble" in March 2000. This chart shows the percentage of Americans who have read news online "ever" and "yesterday" according to the Pew Internet & American Life Project.
