The ABC numbers for newspaper circulation are out and they are ugly: paid print subscriptions are down almost across the board.

On the other hand, online news readership has grown dramatically in the past 5 years--with regular readership of news online double in March 2005 what it was at the peak of the "bubble" in March 2000.
